sakit

haiya.. satu umah sakit kena selsema+batuk.. tapi alhamdulillah tak teruk sgt cuma nose congestion jelah teruk tiga-tiga orang..

last Sunday Elyas yang kena cold; bila nafas berbunyi + hidung tersumbat + batuk + dia muntah mukus + tak feeding properly.. risau + kesian jugak sbb dia susah nak nafas pastu mengamoklah then tak nak feeding sgt.. new parents cam kami ni mana tau nak buat ape plus baru 3 bulan nak bg makan ubat ape pun.. siap tepon mama Adi tanya nak wat camna tapi dia soh g jumpa dokter.. so monday tu call GP tanya nak kena jumpa dokter ke tak tapi receptionist tu pun cam tak tau jadi dia akan suruh dokter call balik.. after a few minutes, Dr Adamson tepon tanya “yes, what can i help u?”.. saya pun jawab “err… this is about my son. i think he got cold; bla…bla…bla difficult to breath… bla..bla..bla.. coughing.. bla..bla..bla.. his temperature is 36.7…bla..bla..bla.. he is 3 months old.” pastu dokter pun reply ” it sound that he is having a normal cold but because he’s 3 months old I like to check him. Can you come to GP in TEN MINUTES?” saya;” HAH? TEN MINUTES?? okay..okay.. I’m coming now” dan terus kelam kelibut siap; called Adi kat skolah kater nak g GP then terus drive ke GP. Terkejut mok cik nih bila dokter soh dtg dlm 10 min.

Kat UK ni SUSAH GILER nak jumpa dokter tau! tak de walk-in, walk-in nih.. nak kena tepon buat appointment pastu appointment tu pun bukan boleh dapat senang2, mungkin 2-3 hari lepas tu.. dah lah takde poliklinik.. hanya harapkan GP yg buka OFFICE HOUR je dan dalam byk2 hospital kat Bristol ni 1 je hospital yang ada 24hr A&E! then kalau g A&E tetengah malam pun kena tunggu 2-3 jam walaupun ada 3 ORANG SAHAJA PESAKIT TGH TUNGGU!

sambung balik; selepas drive kelam kelibut ,sampai GP tunggu sat je pastu terus masuk bilik dokter. Dokter pun check Elyas dgn stateskop(?) , check telinga dan lidah.. dokter kater Elyas mmg ade heavy cold tapi yang lain2 ok,dokter takut Elyas kena hay fever je thats why la dia nak check. untuk cold Elyas tu, dokter describe kan ubat titik soh buh kat dlm hidung..

masa hari rabu Adi pulak kena selsema, then jumaat saya pulak jangkit..Elyas dah ok sikit tapi masih ada lagi problem hidung tersumbat.. mujur tak de yang demam teruk..

note: tahniah to haida yang bersalin baby girl last week.  hari jumaat kami g tgk dia, hope dia & baby tak berjangkitlah selsema dari kami :P

PAP SMEAR

Last week, i got a letter from NHS which subject to invite me to do a Pap Smear Test and today I done the test. The test not painful at all but just feeling..hmm…strange??? In UK, every women who are age between 25-65 will be invited automatically to do the test every 3 years. The main objective for this test is to spot any abnormal cells at cervic especially to detect cancer cells. I will know the result in 4-6 weeks.

Worldwide, cervical cancer is the fifth most deadly cancer in women. It affects about 1 per 123 women per year and kills about 9 per 100,000 per year.

Nak dijadikan cerita, saya disyaki kena urine infection. Since yesterday I’m feeling uncomfortable at my feminin area, especially when I go to restroom and this morning I spot blood in my urine. I think this happened because tahan kencing masa tengah kerja semalam. Dah takut, sebab ingatkan kena batu karang. Doktor bagi antibiotik untuk makan dalam masa seminggu.

Kesimpulan untuk hari ini, buat Pap Smear dengan jangan tahan kencing. kekeke

What is a Pap smear?

A Pap smear is a test your doctor does to check for signs of cancer of the cervix. The cervix is part of your uterus (womb). During a Pap smear, your doctor takes a sample of cells from your cervix to be tested. To take the sample, your doctor will put a special instrument called a speculum into your vagina. This helps open your vagina so the sample can be taken. Your doctor will gently clean your cervix with a cotton swab and then collect a sample of cells with a small brush, a tiny spatula or a cotton swab. This sample is put on a glass slide and sent to a lab to be checked.

6 ways to get a little bit healthier

I wanna share a few nice tips how to be healthier without dieting and exercising taken from Glamour mag.

  1. Enjoy a drink with your dinner (hmm..minum air kosong / coke boleh kira ke?)
    • “so many woman get home from work and pour themselves a huge glass of wine” says psycologist Beverly Thorn. It’s much healthier to have a glass with a meal, rather than as a stress reliever (on empty stomach) when you get in.
  2. Go outside for ten minutes (recently hujan byk, malas nak kuar..sejukkkk…grrrr)
    • “people these days live their entire live in a box (like me,just sit in front the computer for whole day!!)” says Dr Pamela Peeke, author of Body For Life For Women. “But science shows that getting outdoors, even just to sit on a bench and watch the squirrels, lower the stress and the health problems that go with it”.
  3. Stay in bed longer ( I do it everyday till 1pm…hahahah)
    • chronic sleep deprivation has been linked to weight gain, depression and diabetes. “sleep is not a luxury,” says Dr Meir Kryger, author of A Woman’s Guide To Sleep Disorders. “We need it as much as we need food and water.”
  4. See friends ( ouch!! patutlah saya tak sihat sangat)
    • as they age, lonely people may develop more stress-related health problems, such as high blood pressure and heart disease.
  5. Make weekend plans, now (I loooveeee weekend!)
    • just anticipating a good time can help your heart. “my research has found that looking forward to something creates a change in your brain and may lower brain pressure as well,” says Professor Lee Berk. His research is causing neurosurgeons worldwide to re-evaluate the mind’s influence on keeping the body healty.
  6. Have more sex (opsss!!!)
    • It7s true: making love is good for you. “There’s evidence that women who have sex at least once a week have better immune fuction,” says sex therapist Dr Laura Berman.
